Celebrating National Clean Energy Week

This week, in honor of National Clean Energy Week, I want to express my deep appreciation to you as a subscriber to one of Groundswell's community solar projects and as a participant in DC's Solar for All program. It has been and continues to be an absolute pleasure to serve you. Groundswell's Customer Support Team now serves more than 4,000 community solar subscribers in DC, and I am continually humbled by your kindness toward our team.

The last year-and-a-half has been incredibly challenging, and I know many of our DC neighbors have felt the burden of high energy bills acutely. Unexpected challenges like cut hours, job loss, sickness, and dangerous heat have made high energy bills more difficult for households across the country to pay, and I sincerely hope your electricity bill savings through community solar has eased that burden in some way.

As you know, your community solar subscription is making an impact far beyond your electricity bill by enabling DC to begin to shift to clean energy. In order to meaningfully combat climate change in a way that serves our neighbors and our communities, every household, regardless of income or housing type, must have access to clean and affordable electricity. DC is one of the nation's leaders in developing equitable and widely accessible clean energy, and your participation in a community solar project proves that it is possible to develop equitable community solar in other states, cities, and communities around the United States.

DC is leading the nation with one of the most progressive solar programs in the US, which was created under the leadership of Mayor Muriel Bowser. As a DC Solar for All participant, you receive up to $500 a year in clean energy savings from a community solar while supporting clean energy solutions that result in cleaner air and water here in our community.

Your participation is also part of an effort that has already brought more than 13,000 clean energy jobs to the district and created high-paying career opportunities for your friends and neighbors, with more to come.

Do you want to do more to support clean energy here in the district? Ask a friend to sign up for Solar for All today, and help DC continue to lead the country to a more sustainable, clean energy future. Let your friends know they can apply online at doee.dc.gov/solarforall, by phone at (202) 299-5271, or by email solarforall@dc.gov.

Thank you for making a better, cleaner future possible with your subscription.
