Washington, DC, May 19, 2021 — Starting on May 26, Groundswell will lead the monthly webinar series, Energy Futures 2021, to build awareness around the findings of the LIFT Solar Everywhere program. LIFT focuses on accelerating solar access for low- and moderate-income (LMI) households. Kicking off in May 2021, this series will convene subject matter experts and industry professionals on topics related to community-solar and clean energy projects established to serve LMI households. The webinar series is supported by Bank of America.

During our May 26 webinar, Groundswell will lead panelists in a discussion of how cities build energy equity through community solar. The panel will speak to the “how-to,” models, financing approaches, and regulatory considerations that enable a shift to more equitable clean energy futures. Our moderator, Groundswell Senior Program Director Chris Nichols, will lead the conversation about city-based programs that are advancing energy equity within the context of community solar programs. Speakers include leaders from the Philadelphia Energy Authority, the DC Department of Energy & Environment, and the Energy Trust of Oregon. Join us to listen and share great ideas for actionable next steps — for community leaders at all levels and our neighbors. We all have a place at the table to build energy equity.

“LIFT gathers and analyzes project finance and associated customer experience data nationally from a diverse set of solar projects and programs. We are excited to be able to share some of those findings alongside insight from energy equity leaders through this webinar series,” Groundswell Senior Program Manager Chris Nichols said.

This kickoff webinar will feature a panel discussion with speakers including Emily Schapira from Philadelphia Energy Authority, Alex Lopez from DC Department of Energy & Environment, and Lizzie Rubado from the Energy Trust of Oregon.
