Alicia Hill

Alicia B. Hill is the Associate Manager of Marketing and Communications at Groundswell, a nonprofit that builds community power. Since childhood, Alicia has been fascinated by how stories shape lives and communities, and she could be found explaining hard concepts with stories on the playground before she entered first grade. Her passion for stories that drive understanding and change shows through in every aspect of her work.

Alicia works with Groundswell's Marketing and Communication team, focusing on how the stories Groundswell shares with subscribers can strengthen communities and connect readers with the tools they need to build the energy futures that they envision for themselves and generations to come. She believes that stories matter and sharing those stories helps communities thrive.

Prior to joining Groundswell, Alicia was an award-winning reporter focused on community-based stories with a deep and meaningful impact on local lives. She was recognized for her writing by the Georgia Press Association in 2019 and the Associated Press in 2018. While serving as a journalist, Alicia had a front-row view of the ways sustainability projects that purposefully work with nearby communities can bring joy and hope to those communities, along with cost savings, new career opportunities, more vibrant public spaces, and more.

An active member of her community, Alicia serves on the board of the Kiwanis Club of LaGrange as the Marketing Chair. She graduated from the inaugural Kiwanis Amplify leadership program and the 2020-2021 Class of Leadership Troup. She also serves as a Den leader for a local Cub Scout pack. Alicia studied Communication at Berry College, where she wrote for the school newspaper and the student news site.

Outside work, Alicia enjoys time with her husband and son, hiking, taking way too many pictures, and watching cheesy movies.
