In September, Groundswell welcomed committed community advocates to our team and celebrated the promotion of some of our team members actively building community power in the communities we serve. From the stellar additions to our staff to internal promotions, we are excited to update you on our team!

Kristal Virgil has been promoted to the VP of Finance, IT, and Development. Kristal will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the organization’s finances, informational technology, and fundraising functions. 

Marcus Thomas has been promoted to the Director of HR and Marketing & Communications. Marcus will provide leadership and strategic direction, planning, coordination, and administration of the human resources function, in addition to providing managerial support for the marketing and communications team.

Nicole Sonderegger has been promoted to Director of Energy Programs. Nicole will be responsible for leading the deployment of Groundswell's clean energy programs and projects.

Rashad Williams has been promoted to Director of Subscriber Services. Rashad will provide general oversight and leadership over Subscriber Management Services and Customer Support. Rashad is at the helm of Groundswell’s effort to provide low-to-moderate income households with access to clean energy resources, information, programs, and products that empower them to mitigate both the physical and financial barriers to going solar.

Alicia Hill has been promoted to Associate Manager of Marketing & Communications. Alicia will oversee all internal and external SMS communications, ensuring messaging is consistent and engaging.

Emily Peck has been promoted to the Subscriber Services Manager at Groundswell. Emily will be at the center of developing the SharePower™ UEx by overseeing several elements of the SMS product, including data, research, technology, and all other SMS process flows.

Welcome to the team, Sylvester Chabuka! Sylvester is partnering with Groundswell through the US Department of State’s Community Engagement Exchange Program. For twelve weeks, Sylvester, an emerging international young leader, will work at Groundswell, collaborating on building healthy, inclusive communities and preparing the Community Engagement Project he will undertake upon his return to Malawi.
