Rural Resilience: EV Fleets & Rural Communities

Groundswell 2024

In April, Groundswell hosted Keith Dennis, President of the Beneficial Electrification League, and Margarita Parra, Director of Transportation Decarbonization at Clean Energy Works, for an interactive webinar about opportunities and challenges facing rural communities working to take advantage of funding opportunities to electrify fleets in their communities.

The Beneficial Electrification League (BEL) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase understanding of the benefits of electrification by promoting the market acceptance of beneficial electrification. BEL's vision is for a future where electrification is broadly implemented, when beneficial, to drive economic development, meet consumer needs, and achieve environmental goals.

Clean Energy Works catalyzes the adoption of inclusive utility investments. They build bridges between community champions, leading utility executives, and policy-makers to create bright spots of innovation in the power sector. These champions forge productive relationships that accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions.

In this webinar recording, we will dive into the benefits of school bus fleet electrification, such as using vehicle fleets to stabilize the grid, long-term cost savings, and the reduction of emissions, challenges facing this transition, inclusive utility investments, and more.
